{"id":1353,"date":"2013-02-22T12:14:29","date_gmt":"2013-02-22T12:14:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/salibblog.wordpress.com\/?p=1353"},"modified":"2013-02-22T12:14:29","modified_gmt":"2013-02-22T12:14:29","slug":"competitions-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/or\/stromnessacademylibrary\/2013\/02\/22\/competitions-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Competitions &amp; Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are currently a couple of competitions available for pupils to enter if they wish.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Orkney Library &amp; Archive are running writing competition for young people, closing date 16th March \u2013 <strong>Young Orkney Writer\u2019s Prize<\/strong> details of which can be found on the school library <a href=\"http:\/\/salibblog.wordpress.com\/2013\/02\/13\/orkney-young-writers-prize\/\" target=\"_blank\">blog<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orkneylibrary.org.uk\/\">Orkney Library <\/a>website.<\/li>\n<li>To mark <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbookday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>World Book Day<\/strong> <\/a>on the 7th March, National Book Tokens is running a bookmark design competition, closing date 19th April with an internal date of 29th March so we can post entries away. This is for age up to 16yrs. The winning design will be made into a bookmark and distributed to thousands of bookshops nationwide All pupils are invited to enter these. Further details can be\u00a0obtained from Mrs Sinclair in the library or have a look at the competition pageon the World Book Day <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldbookday.com\/competitions\/design-a-bookmark-competition-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To mark World Book Day, there will be a book reading event in the library at lunchtime on Thursday 7th March.
