The last time that Stromness Academy got inspected was 2011. Inspectors were in the building for a week from 24<\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span data-fontsize=\"12\">th<\/span><\/span><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"> March and spoke to teachers and pupils in the classrooms.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><span class=\"eop\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin: 0cm;vertical-align: baseline\"><span class=\"eop\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Pupils had mixed reactions to the inspection process. <\/span><\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Lily, from 2T, said,<\/span> \u201cIt was odd. They wanted to see what I was doing in class. They seemed nosy.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><span class=\"eop\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin: 0cm;vertical-align: baseline\"><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">R<\/span>uby from 2T said, \u201cIt was weird: not all teachers but some acted more happy and kinder than normal but the inspectors stayed out of the way.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><span class=\"eop\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin: 0cm;vertical-align: baseline\"><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Brooke <\/span>from 2R said \u201cIt was fun, I was a bit nervous, but it was fun.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><span class=\"eop\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin: 0cm;vertical-align: baseline\"><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Arwen from 2M<\/span> said, \u201cIt was good, we told them what we were learning about they seemed nice.\u201d<\/span><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><span class=\"eop\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin: 0cm;vertical-align: baseline\"><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">91% of pupils polled think the inspection report will be positive.<\/span><\/span><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><span class=\"eop\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin: 0cm;vertical-align: baseline\"><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The inspection report <\/span>can be found, from 3<sup>rd<\/sup> June, at: <a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/inspection-and-review\/find-an-inspection-report\/\">https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/inspection-and-review\/find-an-inspection-report\/<\/a><\/span><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"><span class=\"eop\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin: 0cm;vertical-align: baseline\"><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\" style=\"margin: 0cm;vertical-align: baseline\"><span xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">By Robyn S<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stromness Academy staff, pupils and parents are eagerly awaiting their HMIE report which will be out on Tuesday 3rd June.
