How will we know if we are achieving our key improvement priorities?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will review progress 4 times a year in line with BGE Tracking Toolkit by analysing the data and setting next steps<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will follow the QI calendar and involve children in self-evaluation using the HGIOURS\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will take part in self-evaluation and audits of learning environments<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will use high quality assessments to gather robust evidence of progress and attainment<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will review individual targets on a termly basis and adapt interventions accordingly<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We will moderate with partner schools to support teacher\u2019s professional judgement<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PRIORITY 1: Reading \u2013 pupil planning and higher order thinking skills<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rationale that informs this priority:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A data analysis of statistics across the school in 24\/25 shows that literacy overall is the area in which the school has the lowest attainment, with 73% of children reaching targets in all three – Listening & Talking,\u00a0Reading\u00a0and Writing.\u00a0\u00a0In 2024\/25 we introduced interventions for\u00a0Writing\u00a0and this will be\u00a0maintained\u00a0as we move into 2025\/26 with the impact being realised in 2025\/26.\u00a0\u00a0Listening and Talking is at\u00a085% and therefore we now need to focus on Reading with\u00a081% of children meeting targets across the school.\u00a0\u00a0To make\u00a0significant progress\u00a0we\u00a0require\u00a0consistency through a shared high quality teaching approach, which is also supported by high quality resources.\u00a0\u00a0This reading focus will be the catalyst for creating\u00a0a robust learning environment in which we can develop pupil planning and higher order thinking skills.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PRIORITY 2: Maths \u2013\u00a0high quality teaching and assessment<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rationale that informs this priority:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A data analysis of statistics across the school in 24\/25 shows that numeracy is\u00a0an\u00a0area in which the school has the\u00a02nd\u00a0lowest attainment, with 79% of children reaching targets.\u00a0\u00a0We have started an intervention\u00a0for maths recovery\u00a0in\u00a024\/25,\u00a0mainly covering\u00a0support and early\/first intervention.\u00a0\u00a0This will\u00a0continue\u00a0in 25\/26\u00a0to develop professional skills\u00a0at\u00a02<\/span>nd<\/span>\u00a0level for continuity\u00a0and progression\u00a0across the school.\u00a0\u00a0To make\u00a0significant progress\u00a0we\u00a0require\u00a0consistency through\u00a0a\u00a0shared high quality teaching\u00a0approach\u00a0underpinned\u00a0by\u00a0Maths Recovery\u00a0knowledge and skills development, which is also supported\u00a0with\u00a0high quality resources.\u00a0\u00a0This maths focus will be the catalyst for creating a robust learning environment in which we are skilled in supporting maths progression in numeracy using high quality questioning, and where we plan for high quality assessments.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
