March 2026 – Hi5 Qualification – CLDE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Feedback<\/strong>:\u00a0 The school was extremely welcoming.\u00a0 From our initial planning meeting to our final day of Hi5 completion, the communication and support for the Family Engagement Team (FET) was excellent. Through regular communication with both the teachers and the admin staff, we were able to plan sessions that suited the needs of the school and meshed with the structure of the school day that was already in place.<\/p>\n

The young people themselves were brilliant to work with.\u00a0 They arrived enthusiastic and keen to learn, and of course many knew what they were doing already.<\/p>\n

We were extremely grateful for the lovely cards that the Evie pupils made. They sit pride of place in our office \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n

We hope that your young people enjoyed our sessions. It really was great to see them working together and having fun at the same time. Thanks again for inviting us in and we hope to work with you again in the future.<\/p>\n

\u00a0We had a very exciting experience of releasing our school trout today.\u00a0 P567 have raised the trout fry from eggs and now have released them back into the Harray Loch.\u00a0 We had lots of families join us for the big moment, which was really lovely.<\/h6>\n

Feedback<\/strong>: I know it’s wrong to have a ‘favourite school’ but Evie Primary are not making it easy to hold the line.\u00a0 Having previously been elected to their Potato and Pasta Parliaments, I’m blown away by their Andy Warhol portraits of me, which now have pride of place in my Holyrood office.<\/p>\n

Feedback<\/strong>: Thank you again for welcoming us into your schools yesterday.\u00a0 We were very impressed with the behaviour of the students, both in cooperating with each other and politeness. When we discovered a piece was missing from one of the kits, I borrowed one from another team and one of the boys asked me which team so that he could go over and thank them personally. If one of the team members was struggling the other students would boost their morale and assist them without taking over their task. I haven’t experienced this at other schools before and there were many anecdotes like this from both Firth and Evie School when talking to my colleagues. The p7s at both schools engaged well with our careers chat, asking lots of questions. We had staff that had never visited Orkney before and overall this left such a warm positive impression of Orcadians!<\/p>\n
