30.11.20

Today we worked on partitioning whole numbers by splitting them into 2 parts. In the afternoon we celebrated St Andrews Day by enjoying Irn  Bru and shortbread and watching a short film on the life of St Andrew. We also finished our own  book about St Andrew.

27.11.20

Today we wrote about the story of ‘Feeding the 5000’. We had to remember to include capitals and full stops. We also made a book about the story of St. Andrew.

Monday is also St Andrews Day. The children can wear something tartan if they have it and we will be learning more about this celebration.

Well done to this week’s  Sumdog Topdog champion too.

We thought you would like to see some drawings we created! After reading the book ‘Look Up’ we took part in a step-by-step tutorial with the illustrator of the book. He showed us how to draw the cat Luna. We all followed the same instructions. We’d love to know what you think!

Here is a snapshot of us enjoying an afternoon in Primary 2!

What a lovely ending to the week – well apart from the weather!

We finished yesterday with a lovely Yoga session where we went on a Bear Hunt. We had to do yoga poses for going through swishy grass, oopy gloopy mud and opening and closing doors.

Today we finished the day working around some stations. It was fun to have some time to paint, use the Ipads and some of the technology resources.

Have a brilliant weekend everyone, Mrs T x

A busy week in Primary 2!

Sorry the blog has been a bit quiet the past few days – I promise we have still been very busy!

We read the story While We Can’t Hug – a beautiful story written to help children through the pandemic. After we read the story we tried to create the characters with our Play Doh – take a look!

We have been busy with our maths work too – we played 4 in a row to practice our adding. It got pretty competative!

We have also been counting in 10’s. To do this we climbed a mountain, swam in the sea & ran a race! We were puffed out by the end of it!

2020 Children In Need Day

We had a great day doing lots of fun things for Children In Need. We made Pudsey masks, kept fit with Joe Wickes, designed a new bandana for Pudsey and  used finger paints to make Pudsey’s spots. In the afternoon we went on a Pudsey hunt, made Pudsey wristbands and decorated some biscuits with Pudsey’s spots on them.

12.11.20

A quick reminder that tomorrow is Children in Need Day. The children can come to school dressed in yellow, spots or anything Pudsey related. They do not need to bring any money as the school will be making a donation. The children will get to enjoy some fun Pudsey related activities.
