Homework 3.10.17
Sounds
This week we will be working on blends with ‘o’ (eg. go, mo, co, etc). Practice reading the sound list in your jotter EVERY night and time yourself. Can you get quicker each night. Record your best time each night in seconds on your sheet.
Challenge – Can you make up words beginning with each blend and write them in your jotter?

Spelling
This week’s words are – not, got, up, mum.
Practise writing them 3 times each in small and capital letters.
Challenge – Can you write sentences with your spelling words practising your capitals and full stops?
Reading
Practise your book every night.
Practise reading the list of words in your jotter that are highlighted in blue or in your word wallet. Can you find these words in a storybook you are reading?
Maths
We will be working on ordering the numbers to 50 and finding numbers ‘before, after and between’.
Can you write the numbers to 50 in order in your jotter?
Choose any number up to 50.What comes after it? What comes before it? Give 2 numbers it comes between. Try lots of examples like this and write your answers in your jotter (remember to write the number you start with as well as your answer).

Health
Teach someone in your family how to wash their hands properly. Write about what you did and draw a picture or take a photograph and stick it in your jotter.

Today we used the counting stick to sequence the numbers to 40. We also ordered the numbers to 50 and found numbers before, after and between one another. We had to guess which number Mrs Lang was thinking of by listening to the clue which told you how many tens and units the number had. Why not play that at home?
