Today we have been using different materials and activities to explore place value.
We have also been thinking about the sequence of events during Shabbat and looking at some of the items used during the traditional meal. Can you tell someone information about these items?
Hope you enjoy your sweet treats and have a great weekend.
Well, everyone looked the part today for their photos! Only a few ties to straighten and a bow to put back in! The photos are great, so you will be delighted to see the proofs tomorrow.
Today we were thinking about how we are making progress in P.E. We used our evaluating and applying skills to think about why we are getting better and realised that concentration and control seem to be the answer!
We are continuing to practise French in everyday routines, lunch numbers, colours and classroom commands. We are writing a short conversation using Comic Life to present our learning.
Today we were continuing to create a conversation in French using the Comic Life program on the PCs.
We were using the skills of transferring images to our piece of work from the Internet, then writing French phrases in the speech bubbles.
This afternoon we were writing about the visit we had from the SSPCA last Friday. Lots of pupils used paragraphs and were editing their own work by using the success criteria check list. I am looking forward to reading the recounts.
To apply our skills in place value, we have created another Maths Masterpiece. This time it is False Perspective, by William Hogarth, which demonstrates how important perspective is in real life. Have a look for the picture on the Internet and see how many mistakes you can see!
This afternoon we were recording and sharing what we have learned about Viking long houses so far. We drew pictures which showed the main features of long houses and labelled them. Please ask us about us about them when we get home! Some pupils made fabulous models of Viking longships.
P4 had a busy day today. We were working on comprehension during reading time and sorting and naming 2Dshapes during maths. We were very interested in learning about the main features of Viking long houses and using what we learned to create new dance moves for our Viking dance.
We learnt a lot today about the work of the SSPCA. Dawn told us lots of information about how they help wild animals. We looked at videos and played games to reinforce our understanding of different wild animals.
Dawn left us some goodies which we will give out next week.
We are looking forward to seeing you this evening. It will be great to share some of our activities with you and show you our learning walls. Today we have been developing our intercepting skills, exploring contractions, applying knowledge of place value and learning about the traditions of Shabbat- the Jewish Sabbath.
Today we have been learning about how our numbers are made up of different values.
We were amazed when we realised that the numbers are additions of different place values! We played some games to help us practise placing the values to match numbers.
This afternoon we watched some information about Roald Dahl, then wrote character descriptions based on the information we collected during reading yesterday.
I can’t wait to read the descriptions which bring these characters to life!
Please could I ask a favour? I have the spelling words ready for the next few weeks, so if I could stick them into the homework jotters that would be easier for the children. Please bring the homework Jotter into school tomorrow and I will sort them out. Thanks
