After assembly we made Easter cards and created an Easter Box.  The Easter bunny left us a surprise in our boxes!!!!!

This morning we got our heart rates racing by playing some games.  We played: Sharks, Octopus, Clock on the Hour strikes the Hour and Bear in the Honey  Pot.  Everyone should  sleep tonight!!!!

This morning in maths, after our revision and mental work, we found out about the name and sizes of different angles. Now we can recognise and name: acute, obtuse, right, straightline, reflex and revolution angles.

This week’s homework is to create your Easter Egg entry for the Hollywood comes to Woodlands then bring it to school on Wednesday 29th March.  This is our last week of the World War II homework too so it’s your last chance to gain some house points.

This morning we couldn’t  use the gym so we had PE outside this afternoon in the glorious sunshine. We played Octopus and Capture the Flag.  We were s surprised when Mrs Pollock we had to go in because it was home time- time certainly flies when you’re having fun!!!!

This morning in PE we were concentrating on developing our gymnastics skills on the floor.   We practised: a forward roll, backward roll, handstand, cartwheel and crab/bridge.  We then worked in 2s or 3s to develop a routine.

This morning we were joined by Marine Conservation Society.  They helped us to learn about Leatherback Turtles  who come to  Scotland every summer.   We learned how to identify Turtles by looking at their carapaces. Whenever we saw a Leatherback Turtle on the presentation we had to use the sign that divers use for signals.  A hatchling is the name for a baby turtle.

Maths

• Continue to use Active Learn Account (Revision of Shape Term 2).
• Many children still need to spend time learning their tables. It would be helpful if the child could have their times tables “at their fingertips”.  The times tables help the children in so many areas of maths.  Each child in the class knows what tables they should be working on.  This Thursday (23rd March) we will be having table test.  Here are some ideas to help your child learn their tables:

TGT (Team Game Tournament) children can make the cards at home.

Chant/Sing/Write the tables out

Easter Egg Design Competition P4-P7

This year’s theme for our Easter Egg competition for is “Hollywood Comes to Woodlands”.  Take time this week to consider some ideas, plan your entry and gather any material you may need.  The final version should not be brought to school until WEDNESDSAY 29^th MARCH

Continue our World War II homework from the sheet given to you by Mrs Pollock.  You will have a choice for homework and earn House Points for the homework you bring in. Choose at least 2 activities per week from the sheet.  Keep the sheet somewhere safe as you will need it until 31^st March.

This morning in maths we were to create a mind map to illustrate all the things we have learned from our work on time. Please remember to bring your PE kit on Monday.

This morning we safely got all the PE equipment out then practised our gymnastics movements. We are becoming more confident on the equipment

This morning all three Literacy groups were working really hard, as always.  One group was reading non fiction on microbes, another group was learning to recognise the difference between direct and indirect speech and the other group was looking at when to use its or it’s.
