This afternoon we had a fabulous, ย festive time at our P5, P6 and P7. ย There was singing, dancing, games and party food. Everyone had a brilliant time.
The choir have just left to sing at Princess Square and the rest of us are getting the hall ready for tomorrow’s nativity performances.
Just a wee reminder our Christmas Party is on Monday 19th. ย Please send in a donation of 1 x2l bottle of juice, 1 large bag of sweets or funsizes, multi pack of crisps or 1 packet of bought cakes. ย Many thanks for your contribution.
There will be no formal homework now until we return to school on Monday 9th January. ย This is in line with the rest of the school. ย Children could still practise their tables, discuss the price of things, perhaps pay for things in shops and estimate change.
We are still waiting for a few children to bring in their costume/outfit for tomorrow’s dress rehearsal. ย Please send them in, if you haven’t already.
Wee Reminder of Dates:

Today we put up our Christmas Tree and started some Christmas artwork. ย It made everyone feel very Christmassy. ย The choir have been given a letter about next weeks arrangements for Princess Square. ย Tomorrow everyone should bring in their outfit for the nativity. Please send in you child’s outfit in a plastic bag to be kept in school until next Friday 16th. If you have any questions about the clothes for the nativity please contact the school office or Mrs Pollock.
Maths:
Choose 3 colours.ย You may not use any other colours.ย Now colour the baubles but make sure that each one is different.ย (You may use each colour more than once on any bauble if you wish.)ย How many different designs can you make?ย Use bauble sheet given to you from Mrs Pollock
ย Continue to spend time learning their tables.ย It would be helpful if the children could have their times tables โat their fingertipsโ.ย The times tables help the children in so many areas of maths.ย Each child in the class knows what tables they should be working on. ย Between now and Christmas we will be having table tests every week.ย Here are some ideas to help your child learn their tables:
TGT (Team Game Tournament) children can make the cards at home.

Read through the lyrics to this well-known Christmas song
and then answer the questions underneath.
On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!
