Today we continued to learn about religious and moral leaders whose actions and lives were shaped by their beliefs and values. We learned about Mother Teresa and the impact her live had. We created a fabulous wall display based on some of the things she said throughout her lifetime, which can still inspire people today to care for others. In between times, we took advantage of the sunshine again! Photos to follow…ongoing technical issues here!
Could all P7s please upload a baby photograph of themselves to Teams via Assignments sometime this week?
No set homework this week – please just try to go on Sumdog each evening and make the most of the sunshine while we have it!
P6/7b had a busy day today, working on division and comprehension. We enjoyed interviewing our visitor from South Africa and learning more about ‘The Rainbow Nation, inspired by yesterday’s discussions on Desmond Tutu and his campaign against apartheid. The weather cleared for us to get out and run in different styles in the afternoon. Next week we will need to wear our school polo shirts and joggers to participate in ‘Sports Week.’
Today in RME we started learning about a world famous leader who tackled apartheid in South Africa through preaching forgiveness, love and peace. Desmond Tutu’s famous speech about the Rainbow People of God inspired us to create some posters. In maths we are working on mixed numbers and different types of fractions.
Today in literacy we were working on our handwriting, VCOP, dictionary definitions and spelling. We also did some dictation and punctuation. In health and well-being we discussed things that are legal and illegal for us to do at our age.
Today we learned how to talk about different feelings in Gaelic and finished working on our Japanese fact files. In PE we focused on our talents with ball skills, running and hula hoops.
This week marks Mental Health Week. We continued our discussions on substance misuse and identified reasons why people may think that they need drugs to make them feel good. We thought about other things that we would prefer to do to help us feel happy naturally.
