Tuesday

When we came in today, we started off by doing some punctuation. We are learning to put in the correct puncation and where it goes correctly. The are 3 groups. Nouns, verbs, and commas. The nouns had a full page of writing and they had to fix and add in the correct puncation. They were also spelling  what was spelled wrong. Then the teacher went over the answer with them. The verbs had a sheet of punctuation aswell. The commas went to read with miss Livingstone.

After doing some punctuation we moved onto planning a talk. We got to go in partners or just by ourselves. The teacher sat out 4 books and we had to pick one of them. We had to read the book and pick a bit to talk about. When we picked a bit we had to go up to the teachers computer and put our name in and the name of what we are gonna be talking about. The reason we had to do that, if anybody is doing the same book, they aren’t gonna be talking about the same page. We had to do our plan in our jotter and plan what it is gonna look like.

After doing literacy,  it was break time.

When we came back in it was maths. The triangles and squares did a text book and word problems. The circles went on Sumdog and then played elimination with the teacher. After they finished the 1 game they did a times table work sheet. While they were doing that the teacher called down the triangles and squares to mark there work.

After maths it was lunch time.

When the bell 🔔 rang we did the daily mile.

When we came back in we did I.d.l. We finished painting our rockets, decorated our eggs and secured them so they won’t die.

This morning we are doing Maths which is my favourite.Everyone has different groups to work in, my group are doing 2,3,1 digit times tables. e.g    36×45=     6×59=      375×194=       

Now we are doing I.C.T with Mr Green,then after break we are going to do some Literacy.

Now the Nouns are doing a debate about Project Nemises,the best book they have read all year.

After lunch we did the daily mile then went to assembly.

After assembly we did 26.2 with Tim which is in Mission X.                              

Mission  X is when we do activities when we are getting ready to be an astronaut because this is what astronauts do before going into space.

Today was really good and tomorrow we get to paint on our eggs for our bottle rockets.  (I’m making a mini top hat 🎩)

Fairtrade research in ICT

Primary 6/7 are researching Fairtrade products. They are learning facts about Fairtrade bananas, chocolate, honey and hot chocolate. With their newly learned facts they are creating PowerPoint presentations, posters and animations. Some children are using using newly learned programming skills through Scratch to create a programmable Fairtrade animation.

Thursday 21st February

 

this morning we are starting the day off by doing morse code

what you do is they’re signs on the smart board and then you look for that sign on the sheet of paper and if you find the sign whatever letter is next to it is the letter you use and at one point you will make a word.

Now we are making up a word for our partner and making that into a morse code.

 

After that we were filling out our emotions like this, this is to help us realise what we are felling instead of constantly saying I am good. We are then more able to control our behaviour when we feel a very negative or very positive emotion.

Later on we were finding out how people like to write so Mr Mcmullan can find out what group we would be in because we are all different.

Then we are doing chalk talk where it is complete silence and you have to write on the chalkboard like this it is fun and helps you because you don’t get spoken over.

Now we are doing daily mile you can only walk to the fence and back to the infant fence and back because to many cars are going in the car park

YAY now it is playtime 😀

Wednesday 20th


In the morning we started with maths and my group started with the daily ten and that is basically a question comes up on the screen and you need to try and guess it. Then the other groups had to stick there learning ladder in there jotter and then do there work.

In literacy we were doing a debate of how good,  bad or funny. The nouns are doing how good or bad the book project nemesis and the verbs are doing how funny no luck Sherlock is and we need to use amazing vocabulary and use the correct language.

In pe we started with our astronaut training log1 and the activity sheet looks like this

We have weeks on the sheet and we tick whatever activities beside the week we did it and there is 6 weeks. There is also 25 activities. The first couple we are doing is touchdown Charlie and agility Astro course. And also an activity move into space.

After lunch we went to assembly and we got to know what song we were going to sing for pancake day and also the people who were going to be on woodlands got talent. And straight after we got to listen mr mcmullan read holes the book.

At 2:00 we started to make our parachutes with our own materials we got from our house or from anywhere.

Tyred Tuesday 😔

When we came in today we started off by doing some morse codes. Morse codes are little lines and dots, we had to work out, but we had a sheet that tells us what is what. It doesn’t tell us what it says it just shows the letter and the code beside the letter. The teacher made one up and put it on the chalkboard. It was really fun working it all out.

After morse codes we did our reading. We got questions and we had to read our book to the page we are meant to be at. There is 3 groups. Nouns, verbs and commas. We all got to play Sumdog, but we  had to go on reading or spelling.

After reading it was playtime. It was an outdoor. There was lots of worms out and it was disgusting.

After playtime it was time for the daily mile. The teacher wants our hearts rate beating when we come back into class so we had to go fast.

After the daily mile, science people came in from the high school. They talked to us about an up coming science fair and if u were interested you had to bring a leaflet home. They were also talking about them, why they are here, and how many schools he have been to.

When the science people left, we did some maths. We are learning to know times table, but in a different way. The circles are learning the 18 times table so instead of doing the 18 just do e.g 9 x 3 = 27 just double it so it will be 54. There is your answer.

After maths it was lunch time. It was an outdoor again. 😀

When we came back in, we watched a video about space. After we started our space rocket. First we had to finish our booklet, then draw what it should look like. When we finished that we had to go to Mr Mcmullan’s office and tell him the instructions on how we are going to make it.

When we finished painting it we had to put it on the table so it will dry and they will do more c coats tomorrow because we want the bottle to be fully covered.

Moody Monday 😞

When we came in we had to find a partner, while one person thinks of sentences with homophones in it and when the person is reading out the sentence, the other person is thinking what the homophone is. If u don’t know what a homophone is it is two words that sound the same but spelled differently. We only did that for 15 minutes.

After that we had a house assembly. We watched news round, listened to mr green telling us important information about the school and we got in our camp fires. If you don’t know what that is, it is when we get in a circle in our groups and mr green ask us questions and then we have turns answering them.

After assembly we went out for the daily mile. We went out for the daily mile to help us develop our fitness.

After the daily mile it was break time. It was an outdoor.

When we came back in we started by doing some maths. We are learning about multiplying, dividing, prime numbers, factors, lowest common multiple and what the meaning of the words mean. We have 3 groups. The teacher gave the cuboids a work bookto do and then when they where finished, they were meant to go on sumdog and do their assement. The circles went down and they played elimination, learned the 9 and 18 times table and then the got to play Sumdog. They did there assement on sumdog and then just played on it. The squared did a work sheet about times tables and then they went down to the carpet to do stuff with the teacher. They played elimination and then finished off there work sheet they got earlier on. When they where finished they got to go on sumdog.

After maths it was lunch time. It was an out door again.

After lunch time we came in and read our book holes. After that we got some tricky words, that we had to found the meaning of in our book.

After it we planned what we were putting on our rocket tomorrow. Tomorrow we are making our rockets so that is why we were planning today. It was really fun and everybody is excited making the rockets tomorrow.
