This morning, we did a final maths assessment for this week’s learning which was understanding decimals.
We chose a medal colour for our learning – bronze, silver or gold and explained why we got that medal.
After playtime we were exploring what we want our classroom and teacher to be like. This is so we can create a class charter that represents what we want in school.
After lunch, the Primary 7s went to the High School for PE and the Primary 6s were
melting beeswax and creating bee food (sugar and water)
Today in literacy we were spelling shapes. We are practising our spelling words because we have a test tomorrow on list 1.
Also we are making up question words that we don’t use as often.
Maths
In maths today we are learning what a decimal is.The teacher picked people to tell him a job to see if it involved decimals most of the jobs in the world involves decimals.
We also played true or false for decimals. Here is some of our work.
We are using rulers to measure things and people in centimetres and meters for example a pen is 14.1 centimetres.More of our work.
Today we finally got to extract our second honey crop!
All the children in the school took part in helping to extracting the honey.
We extracted 19kg of honey which is almost half of Matthew’s body weight!
Primary 6/7 then created some explanation texts from this learning.
The honey will now need to rest for a week to let all of the air bubbles float to the top and then we can buy jars and design labels to package the honey.
The honey will be on sale at the office when it is ready. Keep your eyes peeled.
