Today in maths we have been focusing on making the equation balance .

Workout TIME

today we were working hard in P.E to get fit . Through every workout we went through a different music decade etc 70s , 80s , 90s and early 20th century.

Ramadan

we have been looking at Ramadan (when Muslims fast). Not all Muslims have to fast because they might be pregnant or they might be too young or even an illness.

Modern Lanuages 

        We had modern languages teachers at our school visiting from the high school . They where telling us the importance of being able to speak different languages could help you with jobs all around the world .

First Choir Practice!

This morning we had the first choir meeting in preparation for the school show! We sung The climb and A thousand Hallelujahs remember to learn these songs! 

Then we finished off by playing some jump the river!

Crazy Reactions with BEES!

Mr McMullan cut open some queen cells and we saw some royal jelly pour out including the pupas that died because they were too cold because they weren’t in the hive. We showed the dead pupas to the classes and teachers.

Maths and Function Machines!

In Maths today we were using function machines but this time we were plotting the answers into a graph.

Space Reports!

Today at 1 o’clock we wrote lots of facts about the different planets in our Solar System! We all had different ideas so everyone’s jotters had different facts about different planets.

THE LAST HOUR!

During the last hour we got a visit from the Nursery to give us a delivery of some caterpillars including some instructions on how to take care of them!

We also showed the P6/7s the video on how to stop a swarm but we all ready saw the video so we knew what was coming!

We finished off by showing off how good we were at singing our school show songs at the P6/7s!

Today in language we were doing our space hotels and making them   into flyers and illustrations plus colours we had to add information like introduction,special features,rooms,prices and entertainment

high school band

in the afternoon Greenfaulds High came into Woodlands primary to perform songs like Scottish,jazz and Bruno Mars we all enjoyed it very much !

Homework week beginning 22^nd May

Sport day preparation

Time yourself to do this circuit of exercise. Do it every day in preparation for sports day. Record your times.

10 burpees                                        10 squats

10 sit ups                                           20 star jumps

10 lunges on each leg                      run up and down the stairs 3 times (if you have stairs)

School show preparation

Listen to the songs at least 3 times each.

Write out the lyrics to your favourite song in your best handwriting.

Maths

Active learn. – work through the algebra games including function machines!

Today we were at assembly and Kaitlin and Jennifer talked about the bees how to get the bees to the new hive .  Then we watched a video about the bees moving hive and the other video was about a bee giving birth to Jeff the bee born on 18/5/17 …

After assembly we did times table bingo and Dylan won the bingo on his birthday .   This afternoon we are doing art and the drawing we are doing is called contour , blind contour , gesture .  We are learning techniques to help us draw people.  we are in partners and one is the model and one is drawing the one doing a model this is for gesture .the contour is when you look at the drawing and the person and trying to get all our creases and corners this is called 50 50 drawing . blind contour is when you draw a person without looking at the paper  and not lifting your pencil of your paper. the next activity we did was a out line of how to draw a person correctly and it is called proportions

The high school

Today Vicky and Joyce went to the high school. They did art and drama. In art they made  some pictures of weird and creepy monsters  one of the monsters is still to be completed and one is already completed

Maths

in maths today we were working on function machines the circles worked with Mr McMullen the triangles worked on their own to complete a function machine input worksheet and the squares worked on a worksheet of function machines back words    and a very complex    function machine for fast finisher. we were learning to do the function machines back words .

Reading

In reading we were creating poster although to create the poster we had to read a non fiction book and take notes of the pages given the commas had Medieval times the verbs had the green scene and the nouns had digging for history once we had completed the notes we had the books taken away and used our notes to Finally complete the poster.

Primary 7 were practising the recovery position and CPR this afternoon.  They are also designing information texts detailing the sequence of events to give effective First Aid.  These have to be clear, easy to understand and have steps ordered correctly.

1. in primary 7 today the hole class were practicing are lyrics for  lets go girls song.how we learned the lyrics was  we wrote the lyrics in are jotter

In PE, today, we were playing a skipping rope game which helped us with our hand eye coordination. We then demonstrated this in badminton. The boys were against the girls. We are getting very good at badminton because we can predict where the shuttle will be!

After lunch .. Today in primary 7 we were doing first aid with Mr green and we watched a thew videos about what you should do if there were an a emergency  irl     Reegan  had to get put in the  recovery position by Mr Green and then we  had   to give the  dumby 60 heart pushes 4 times
