Today we were writing a report about Biodiversity. We used facts that we gathered from a video last week and put it in our report. We made a flow chart to order our information. We included a introduction and a conclusion too. We wrote a paragraph for each main area in biodiversity- Species diversity, genetic diversity and Eco system diversity.

Today we demonstrated our learning by creating leaflets for others about habitats. We used the information gathered yesterday in our leaflets.
Today in class we were learning about biodiversity but the habitats. We got lots of facts for the next time.We were moving around to get facts.🌸

Today the p7. Have been learning about fractions and decimals. At first we thought it was hard but then Mrs Park showed us how to do it in a easier way by putting them into groups after that we tried to do it without the groups and we thought it was easy. By Alex 👍🏻
Numeracy
We have been revising what we know about fractions and decimals and have been learning how to convert decimals into percentages. We are moving on to calculating fractions and percentages of amounts.
Ideas for further practise at home:
Literacy
Reading: Summarising – We have been revising how to summarise a piece of text we have read.
Writing: Reports – We have been exploring report writing in class, identifying the main features that should be included in every report.
Spelling: plural words ending in ‘y’ – We have been learning when to add ‘s’ and when to take off the y and add ‘ies’. E.g. donkey = donkeys and factory = factories

Science – Biodiversity
We have been investigating what biodiversity is and are learning about how ecosystems and habitats shape the biodiversity that is found there. In class we have also begun to identify why biodiversity in our local area is important.
Ideas for further practise at home:
- Can you identify the different habitats that can be found close to your home? Create a map showing these habitats and where they are.
- Why not identify the biodiversity that can be found in one of these habitats? Remember to include ALL creatures from the birds that visit to the worms and beetles.

Remember you can use your thinking jotter to record any thoughts, ideas and work you have completed when looking at these topics and I would love to see anything you create at home!

Today we went on a walk around the school and we had our beat the street fobs and we found the boxes then we scanned our fond to get points. It was a lot of fun and we might do it again. By Emma
We have been exploring reports and were working together to identify the main features of a report.
We have been improving our listening and note-taking skills in class today. We watched short video clips explaining what biodiversity is and throughout each clip we listened carefully to identify the important information. We wrote our notes explaining different kinds of biodiversity to help us write a report later on.
In class we have been learning about fractions. Today we have been learning to convert percentages into fractions. Everyone found it a bit hard at first but Mrs.Park helped us to get it.
