Today was Woodlands March for MacMillan. We created flags and decorated them to raise awareness of the great work MacMillan do 💚.

Miss Park

This morning, P7 discussed and listed their strengths and challenges. We then discussed how people can react differently to situations than how we intended them to for several reasons. We created drama scenarios in small groups outside to showcase how a simple interaction can escalate if we don’t use our verbal and non-verbal communication skills. 🌟

P7 had their last session with the NL Sports Coordinates on Friday. We were working on our communication skills and team work skills through orienteering tasks. We thoroughly enjoyed learning our skills over the past month with our coaches. Thank you! 👏 🌟

Meet the Teacher

As we sadly can’t have Meet the Teacher in school, we have all created virtual Meet the Teacher videos to introduce ourselves and show you around the classroom. P7 have created the script, filmed, photographed the content and edited our video to show you the work they have been doing so far. 🌟 

Mr Green is currently creating everyone a log in for Microsoft Teams, which is what our homework will be on after the September weekend. There will be one piece of Literacy, Maths and Other. Pupils will complete and upload their document or a photo of their written work and I will be able to mark it and send it back.  📚 

At home, you can support your child by encouraging them to read, to practise their times tables (pupils should be aiming to have quick recall of all tables from 2-12). In class we have practised 2, 3, 4 and 6 times tables so far. Pupils can use Topmarks, Sumdog and Active Learn at home. I will set Sumdog challenges every two weeks. Pupils can also access books through Bug Club, which we will be doing in class too.  📖 ✖️

P7 had their PE today, focussing on our fitness. We practised the warm up game our Sports Coordinators taught us. We done some fitness races in teams. We also incorporated our communication skills to practise good listening and speaking clearly and loudly to our partners in a context through team Chaos. 👏 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️

P7 also scripted, recorded, photographed and edited our Meet the Teacher video today! Stay tuned for some Lights, Camera, Action 💡 📸  🎬 🎥

This afternoon, P7 watched some clips and learned about another new, man made Wonder of the World; Machu Picchu. This is a lost city in Peru made by the Inca’s. We took notes and used these to create posters in our jotters. 
 

This afternoon, P7 focussed on our communication skills; specifically listening and talking clearly and loudly, through a game of “I went to the shop and bought…”

Today, all pupils were given a hand template as part of their homework from Miss Ferguson 🖐 . Please fill in 5 different adjectives to describe you, one on each finger. On the palm of the hand can be a design and or your name, using colour and anything which is about you, important to you or your likes/ hobbies/ interests. Miss  Ferguson is looking for it to be neat, colourful and eye catching! Please return when you can 😁🌟🤩.

Today, P7 were using their communication skills, carefully focusing on ensuring their instructions are clear and precise and their partners ensuring they’re listening very carefully to draw the picture described.

Today, we practised more sign language and signed a word to our partner who has to guess the word.
Well done to this girl for completing our 100 word story challenge👏 🌟 .

Today, P7 completed our fitness obstacle courses for PE. We practised jumping, sprinting, balancing and climbing. We finished with a whole class game of Chaos.
