The Parent Council is composed of parents, staff, and co-opted members with the Head Teacher as adviser. They have rights and duties and responsibilities in relation to the Management of the school.<\/span><\/div>\n

The rights and duties include:-<\/span><\/div>\n
– supporting the work of the school<\/span><\/div>\n
– representing the views of parents<\/span><\/div>\n
– consulting with parents and reporting back to the Parent Forum<\/span><\/div>\n
– promoting contact with the school, local, and wider communities<\/span><\/div>\n
– fundraising<\/span><\/div>\n
– taking part in the selection of senior promoted staff<\/span><\/div>\n
– receiving reports from the Head Teacher and Education Authority<\/span><\/div>\n
– receiving an annual budget for administration, training and expenses<\/span><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

The Head Teacher and the Local Councillor may attend Parent Council meetings but do not have the right to vote.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

All members of the Council are selected for a period of 2 years, after which they may put themselves forward for reselection if they wish. All parents of children at the school can take part in the selection. Any parent of a child at the school can volunteer to be a member of the Parent Council. In the event that the number of volunteers exceeds the number of vacant places on the Council, members will be selected by voting.
