P.O.L.O. DAY
We made art using leaves, twigs, stones and mud.
Outdoor Learning
We planted onions and leeks in our planters.
Fraction Pancakes
We used butter and jam to create fractions on pancakes.
We used only halves and quarters.
I enjoyed making these pancakes because it helped me understand using halves and quarters. Sophia
I liked when we spread the jam and butter and cut the pancakes into halves and quarters. Karly
I really enjoyed planning what I would create on my pancake. Sian D
And the best bit was…we got to eat them when the lesson was finished!
YUUUMMMMMMYYYY!!!!
Electrical Circuits
We have been learning all about Electricity and how it works. We learnt last week about conductors and insulators, and electrical circuits. Today we learned about the components of a circuit, their symbols and we made our own circuits. We were able to get a bulb to light and a motor to run using battery electricity.
Fractions
Today we started to learn about Fractions, focusing mainly on halves and quarters. We decided we are secure in this knowledge and showed this when playing Fraction Flags, where we had to create flags with designs of halves and quarters.
Outdoor Learning
Today we planted lettuce to be eaten with our salad when we can pick it. We are excited about the outcome.
We also decided to carry out an experiment with our onions. Due to the recent weather, things we have planted aren’t growing as quickly as we would like. We have taken some into our classroom and put them on the windowsills so that they get plenty of sunlight. We will see which ones grow best in a few weeks.
