Xmas Enterprise
Primary 4 have chosen to create personalised Christmas baubles to sell at the Christmas Fayre this coming Saturday.
We voted for the business name ‘Bibbidi Baubili Boo’, created by Sian S, and decided on the teams that would make it successful.
There is the Design Team, The Sales Team, The Media Team and the Manufacturing Team.
We will all be in the Manufacturing Team but had to apply for jobs in the other team of our choice.
Today we met with our managers to complete tasks we put in our business plan on Thursday.
The Sales Team successfully sourced the cheapest baubles to buy to help us make a profit, the Design Team have given lots of ideas to their manager but have still to decide how the baubles will look and the Media Team concentrated on making posters to advertise our Enterprise.
We can’t wait to get started on the baubles!
Children in Need Day
Cute & Cuddly Day for Children in Need
Our class gave a donation to wear our own clothes. We looked fabulous in our cute and cuddly Pudsey outfits.
We had a fun-filled afternoon in class!
We had lots of fun playing Pudsey games on the computer.
We took photos of ourselves looking like Pudsey.
We made Pudsey biscuits.
We created Pudsey Arts and Crafts.
And most importantly, we raised even more money by paying for cakes and biscuits from the Charity Council Bake Sale. Well done to them for doing such a wonderful job!
We had lots of fun and hope we have raised lots of money for such a worthwhile cause.
Fire Safety
We found out all about ways to stay safe with electricity in the home and at school. We also found out about Firework Safety and created posters for different audiences to share what we learned.
We were lucky enough to be visited by Fire Officers from Cumbernauld Fire Station who told us again, of ways to stay safe. After listening to them and everything we found out throughout the week we definitely knew the ways to stay safe!
Neve: I stayed well back from the fireworks
Toby: I knew not to wave sparklers around incase I hit anyone
Sophia: I knew never to hold fireworks in your hand
Karly: I knew not to wear gloves when holding my sparkler
Heather: I knew never to throw a sparkler or firework about
Lewis: I knew not to start a bonfire of my own
Holly: I knew never to play with fireworks or sparklers
We hope you all had a fun and SAFE bonfire night!
Natural Disasters
We have learned so much about Natural Disasters and now want to share it with you. Sian D & Sophia
Gary: There are more than five types of natural disasters
Darcie: We know what causes natural disasters
Toby: Tsunamis are huge waves that can kill thousands of people
We used iPads to research the type of natural disaster we wanted to find out more about then we created a fact file
It was so much fun – Robyn
I had lots of fun learning about Tsunamis – Toby
C.S.I. WHITELEES
Whilst learning about Mount Everest we found out about something called Bigfoot or a Yeti. We were so intrigued that we wanted to find out more about this myth or mystery and did some research of our own!
We then wrote newspaper articles about the possible sightings.
We still aren’t convinced!
Bird Feeders
Having learnt all about the birds in our school grounds we chose to create our very own bird feeders using recycled materials. As this was a Homework task the design took place in class and the creation took place at home.
Mrs Wightman was very impressed with our ideas and loved every feeder. We will choose some to put outside soon and keep the others to be put outside in the winter.
Volcanic Eruptions
We conducted an experiment to create a chemical reaction that would erupt inside a bottle and look like a volcanic eruption.
Watch our videos to see some of our experiments in action. They will only play on a computer.
We used washing up liquid, water, bicarbonate of soda, vinegar and some red food colouring.
When those were combined all groups managed to get a reaction that caused our previously made volcanoes to “erupt”.
As you can hear, we thought the whole experience was AWESOME!!!!!
