{"id":1180,"date":"2016-02-23T13:43:15","date_gmt":"2016-02-23T13:43:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/whitelees\/?p=1180"},"modified":"2016-02-23T13:44:47","modified_gmt":"2016-02-23T13:44:47","slug":"wildlife-area-in-our-school-grounds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/whitelees\/2016\/02\/23\/wildlife-area-in-our-school-grounds\/","title":{"rendered":"Wildlife Area in our School Grounds"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #808000\">Recently Primaries 5\/6, 6, 7a &amp; 7b have taken part in designing and creating an outdoor nature area, as part of our Outdoor Learning opportunities.\u00a0 We took the time to make plans for what our area would look like, then gathered all of the natural materials to create the area.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ff00ff\">Unfortunately, we had to delay our plans due to the amount of litter in that part of our school grounds.\u00a0 The litter may have been blown in through the fence from the lane leading to Lilac from Whitelees.\u00a0 We have since cleared the area of cans, bottles, crisp packets, carrier bags and cardboard.\u00a0 This allowed us to proceed.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/whitelees\/files\/2016\/02\/images-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1209\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/whitelees\/files\/2016\/02\/images-1.jpg\" alt=\"images-1\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">DID YOU KNOW?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">A dog could cut it&#8217;s tongue on a piece of glass!<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">A hedgehog could get it&#8217;s head stuck in a tin can!<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">A fox could get it&#8217;s head stuck in the plastic that attaches beer cans!<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">A bird could choke on a crisp wrapper!<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/whitelees\/files\/2016\/02\/images.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1208\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/whitelees\/files\/2016\/02\/images.jpg\" alt=\"images\" width=\"267\" height=\"189\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff;text-decoration: underline\">We hope this won&#8217;t happen in our wildlife area but we need your help!<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff\">Please be aware of any litter in the area surrounding our school playground.\u00a0 If you could always put your litter in a bin that would make such a huge difference to our wildlife.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><span style=\"color: #800000;text-decoration: underline\">Thank You!
