Make Your Mark Ballot

Make Your Mark is underway with 28,436 votes cast so far! Over one million votes were cast last year and there’s still time to catch up!

This is the biggest annual survey of 11-18 year olds in the UK, empowering young people to highlight the issues that matter most to them by voting online.

The top five issues will be debated at the next UK Youth Parliament, organised by the British Youth Council and supported by the UK Parliament.

The ballot is open until 30 November 2020 so encourage all 11-18 year olds you know to have their say and make their mark at ukparliamentweek.org.

Follow #MakeYourMark on social media and remember to like and share.

Hey Scotland’s young people!

@OfficialSYP’s Manifesto consultation is live!

In these rapidly changing times, your right to be listened to on all matters impacting you in more important than ever.

Let us know what you need in #FromScotlandsYoungPeople: https://bit.ly/3axhgqt

Last day of term!

Good morning everyone!
Hope you are all well and looking forward to the holidays, which officially start at 1pm today. Hopefully the sun comes back out!
I’m sure you have lots of questions about returning to school in August, especially after the Deputy First Minister’s announcement yesterday, but your teachers are working on it and you’ll be issued with plans and timetables as soon as possible. Try to finish off any work you’ve been set, but the most important thing is to try and enjoy your summer holidays. It’s been a very difficult few months for us all and you all need a break. Hopefully things return to normal soon, but if you need anything over the holidays or are worried about anything, please get in touch.
Thank you for all your hard work and I’d also like to say a special thank you to your teachers who have been working very hard to support you in many different ways in very difficult and unusual circumstances, particularly to Mr Biggerstaff who leaves us today.
Take care and enjoy your summer.
We look forward to seeing you all in August.
Miss Stoutjesdyk.

The Scottish Youth Parliament needs your help!

SYP needs your help with our 2021-26 Youth Manifesto!

The[ https://syp.org.uk/ ]Scottish Youth Parliament is the democratically elected voice of Scotland’s young people. Our role is to ensure that the voice of 12-25 year olds is heard by decision makers and to enable us to do this, our members and staff team frequently consult with young people across the country to find out their opinions on issues facing Scotland.

We are therefore delighted to launch our 2021-26 manifesto consultation, [ https://www.surveygizmo.eu/s3/90236199/From-Scotland-s-Young-People-SYP-s-Manifesto-2021-2026 ]From Scotland’s Young People. As our largest consultation exercise, our five year manifesto truly drives the direction of our campaigns and advocacy work and we are asking for your support to help us reach young people.

What is SYP’s Manifesto Consultation?
Our consultation is open to 12-25 year olds across the country and the results will create our 2021-26 manifesto. Co-designed by young people, the survey covers a wide range of policy areas: from climate change, gender recognition, age of criminal responsibility, to what time the school day should start. It also includes a range of questions on how the Scottish Government should protect young people’s futures in the aftermath of COVID-19.

By sharing their views, not only will young people will directly shape SYP’s work over the next five years but they will also enable us to inform Scotland’s political parties of the changes they’d like to see within the next Parliamentary term.

We would like you to complete a short survey that can be found here:

Thank you!
