75 years ago this Friday (8th May 1945), there was a day of celebration declared across the UK to mark the Allied Forces Victory in Europe against the Germans in WWII. However, the war was not over until Japan surrendered on 2nd September 1945.
The UK government decided to move our public holiday to 8th May this year to coincide with the 75th anniversary. Unfortunately, current circumstances mean that there won’t be any large scale public commemoration events as there would normally be, but here are some links to information you can read and tasks you can try at home to mark the day yourselves:
