Literacy Trust -Reading Project\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week, Mis Murphy from Modern Languages spent the week in Marakech as part of a reading project she is undertaking with the Literacy Trust.\u00a0 We are looking forward to this project coming to life and enhancing reading within the faculty.\u00a0 Watch this space for future updates !<\/p>\n

NLC Literacy Pilot\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the pilot comes to a close we have undertake some rigorous self-evaluation with the young people and the results have been amazing.\u00a0 The final products are amazing and the active pedagogy has been a huge hit with our young people.\u00a0 We look forward to widening this project in the future – watch this space for exciting news on this pilot coming VERY soon.<\/p>\n

S4 Progress Assessments<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we the staff continue to work our way through the marking and cross-marking of papers our young people are working hard to ensure they have achieved their Level 5 Literacy Qualifications.\u00a0 Results in both English and Spanish should be back with the young people at the beginning of next week.<\/p>\n

S5-6 Prelims\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we move towards the S5-6 Prelims we remind our young people of the various Supported Study offerings in both English and Spanish.\u00a0 Folio Clinic continues every Friday afternoon with a healthy uptake.\u00a0 There are numerous resources on MS Teams to support young people in their revision including Scholar, Achieve and our own revision materials.<\/p>\n

BGE\u00a0 Christmas Activities\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most S2 English classes are enjoying this festive treat in class as we move towards the big day.\u00a0 At the same time S1 are busy producing their Christmas magazines !<\/p>\n
