Children’s progress is assessed by teacher observation of the child’s performance over the year in addition to more formal assessment tasks. This enables the teacher to monitor progress, identify learning difficulties and help to develop a child’s particular strengths. If needed, extra help and practice will be given. Teachers will keep records of progress which will form the basis of reports to parents. Parents’ Nights are scheduled for October and March of each academic year. If parents wish to discuss their child’s progress at other times, however, then every effort will be made to accommodate them. We also run class open days each session, where you can see your child at work in the class. In addition, Curricular Information evenings and Events are scheduled each year on different subjects. In 2010-12 we have had Whole School exhibitions/presentations on Health, Music, Art, and the Rights of the Child. All assessment records will be passed on to the receiving teacher when a child moves to a new school or class, thus ensuring continuity of education.
