Faith Hymn – Papal Visit
The visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Scotland inspired some of Taylor’s Third Year music students to write the hymn ‘Faith’.
The hymn was first recorded in the school and then filmed on location at Carfin Lourdes Grotto. The resulting video was submitted to the Glasgow Papal Mass organisers in the hope that it would be featured on the giant screens at Bellahouston Park on the day.
The organisers were so impressed with the students’ efforts that the school was given the great honour of the students performing their new hymn live as the opening gathering hymn at Bellahouston Park on the 16th September prior to the Papal Mass.
