It is based on the growing research around play and child development. It offers the children regular opportunities to engage in a whole week of active play and learning. This will occur every 3\/4 weeks, during revision weeks and the Primary 1 classrooms will be transformed into play zones to encourage creativity, imagination and exploration. Many of the resources for the programme have been provided by St. Timothy&#8217;s PTA.<\/p>\n<p>The Play zones:<\/p>\n<p>Room 1 &#8211; free flow play<\/p>\n<p>Room 2 &#8211; numeracy and maths play<\/p>\n<p>Room 3 &#8211; literacy play<\/p>\n<p>Each day the children will visit all 3 playrooms with their class teacher and experience play activities to consolidate and develop their own learning.<\/p>\n<p>This is an exciting new development so watch this space and look out for photos on Twitter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The &#8216;Learning to Play : Playing to Learn&#8217;\u00a0programme is our own play-based learning programme, developed within St. Timothy&#8217;s.
