Assessment & Reporting

In St Thomas’ Primary School and Nursery Class we already embrace the policy and practice of the AiFL programme. This provides a sound foundation for taking forward assessment in relation to A Curriculum for Excellence. Using AiFL we can encourage the development of children and you people as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.

The school will endeavour to create strong home partnership links both formally and informally. Each class teacher will formally report on each child four times per school year.

Term 1 . Parental Appointment (1) usually October of each year.

Term 2. Interim report usually December of each year.

Term 3. Parental Appointment (2) usually April of each year.

Term 4. Full written report usually June of each year.

Over and above this staff will record and communicate through the use of the child’s school diary.
