Digital Schools Award Scotland<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2023, St. Stephen’s Primary was proud to achieve the Digital Schools Award Scotland<\/strong>, recognising our commitment to embedding digital technology effectively across learning and teaching. This prestigious award reflects our strong digital culture, where technology is used to enhance learning, engagement and achievement across the curriculum. Pupils are provided with meaningful opportunities to develop essential digital skills, including creativity, collaboration, communication and digital citizenship, preparing them for success in an increasingly digital world.<\/p>\n

We continue to build on this achievement by promoting innovative teaching approaches, supporting staff professional learning and ensuring that all pupils have opportunities to use digital technology safely, responsibly and effectively. Through our commitment to digital learning, we are helping to develop successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors in line with the aspirations of Curriculum for Excellence.<\/p>\n

Our digital leaders are responsible for driving digital learning in our school Some of these responsibilities include helping other children to use different technologies, creating educational videos explaining the use of different programs and digital tools, and contributing to the school website by creating a termly newsletter and a virtual tour of our school.<\/p>\n

Digital Wellbeing Award<\/strong><\/p>\n

Building on this success, we were awarded the Digital Wellbeing Award in 2024<\/strong>, recognising our whole-school approach to promoting safe, responsible and healthy use of technology. Through our digital wellbeing initiatives, pupils develop a strong understanding of online safety, digital citizenship, screen-time balance and positive online relationships. By embedding digital wellbeing into school life, we empower our children to use technology confidently, responsibly and respectfully.<\/p>\n

Together, these achievements demonstrate our commitment to developing the skills, knowledge and attributes of Curriculum for Excellence<\/strong>, supporting children to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors<\/strong> in an increasingly digital society. They also align with the principles of the UNCRC<\/strong>, ensuring children are equipped to participate safely and meaningfully in the digital world.<\/p>\n
