Shops, money, caring for babies and outdoor fun!

Over the last six weeks we have been enjoying a variety of play. We learned about how local shops and services provide us with what we need and created some wonderful shops including a supermarket, pet shop, fruit shop and even a McDonalds! We explored and used different coins and learned to recognise some of these. We also had a great visit to Morrisons where we had a go at naming fruit and veg, got shown how the bread is made and explored the fish counter.

We have also been learning about taking care of babies and have done a fab job of looking after the babies in the nursery. We know that we need to feed a baby milk, change it’s nappy, give it a bath and put it to bed maybe with a toy or a dummy.

We have also enjoyed water play, exploring bubbles, digging and making camp fires outside.  Our Forest Kindergarten groups are also doing great in the woods and are developing a variety of skills each time they go.

We have lots more exciting learning planned forApril, May and June – check back next term for more news and remember to keep up to date with our Twitter (@stserf_nursery).
