{"id":155,"date":"2015-06-19T09:45:21","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T09:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/anntest3\/?page_id=155"},"modified":"2016-02-15T12:40:44","modified_gmt":"2016-02-15T12:40:44","slug":"parent-council","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/stpatricksnewstevenston\/parent-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Parent Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Parent Councils came into force on 1 August 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The composition of the Parent Council is determined by the Parent Forum.\u00a0 The Head Teacher will be the professional adviser to the Parent Council.<\/p>\n<p>The Parent Council&#8217;s rights and duties will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>supporting the work of the school<\/li>\n<li>representing the views of parents<\/li>\n<li>consulting with parents and reporting back to the Parent Forum on matters of interest<\/li>\n<li>promoting contact between the school, parents, pupils, providers of nursery education and the wider community<\/li>\n<li>fundraising<\/li>\n<li>taking part in the selection of senior promoted staff<\/li>\n<li>receiving reports from the Head Teacher and Education Authority<\/li>\n<li>receiving an annual budget for administration, training and other expenses<\/li>\n<li>improving home school partnerships and facilitating parental involvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Head Teacher has a right and a duty to attend all meetings of the Parent Council.\u00a0 Meetings of the Parent Council are open to members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parent Councils came into force on 1 August 2007.
