Although it was different for most of us I hope you managed to get out for your daily walks\/bike rides and have fun at home playing.<\/p>\n<p>This is a strange way to begin a new term but I&#8217;m hoping we can still manage to learn lots of new things.<\/p>\n<p>Today I&#8217;m only going to set one task for your children so that they are not overwhelmed on the first day back.<\/p>\n<p>Literacy Work<\/p>\n<p>Ask if your child can remember what a phoneme is. They should be able to tell you that it is when we take two sounds and put them together to make a new sound.<\/p>\n<p>Ask which ones they can remember.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully you&#8217;ll get s+h is sh, c+h is ch, t+h is th, n+g is ng,e+e is ee and o+o is oo.<\/p>\n<p>This week we are going to put c and k together to make the ck sound. This sound wiil mostly be heard in the middle of words or at the end of words. Curly c always comes before kicking k.<\/p>\n<p>Can you look through a book and find any ck words? \u00a0\u00a0 Write them down.<\/p>\n<p>Can you use your letter tiles to make ck words? \u00a0 \u00a0 (You will have to write ck on a sheet of paper and cut it out for a ck tile)<\/p>\n<p>Here are some ck words to get your child to make&#8230; sick, sack, back, flick, sock, block, flock, kicking, muck and back.<\/p>\n<p>To finish off you can go online and find the ck episode on alphablocks.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow I will post this weeks new spelling words and a new number challenge.<\/p>\n<p>Remember just a little each day and lots of repetition and play.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs McCargo<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Morning everyone, I hope you have had lots of fun during your Easter holidays.
