School Session 2026\/27<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs Stevenson is working hard with the Reading Ambassadors who are making great progress in their going for Gold Reading Schools accreditation. They have been sharing books in the local community. Working with Moodiesburn Library and leading assemblies in school. Our next plan is to make digital recordings of books being read so younger learners and nursery children can have someone read them a story when ever they want!<\/p>\n

Previous Work Carried Out<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Reading Schools is an accreditation programme to help schools build and sustain a reading culture.\u00a0 We have been part of the Reading Schools programme since 2024, achieving a Reading School status in March 2024 and achieved our Silver Reading School Award in March 2025.<\/p>\n

Being part of this scheme has helped to create an ethos and enjoyment for reading within the school.<\/p>\n

CREATING A READING ETHOS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This great girl enjoyed reading these books. \u00a0She wanted to share her love of reading these books with others and decided to donate these to our school library for others to enjoy.<\/p>\n

BOOKBUG LAUNCH<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

To launch our Primary 1 Bookbug Bags, we invited the parents and carers of the Primary 1 children in to share this experience with their child.<\/p>\n
