The mission of St Mary’s Primary School is to produce confident and ambitious children with a strong sense of who they are as learners. We will strive to build a strong, nurturing community based on respect and Gospel Values.
Our children want to: be able to read, write and count, know how to be healthy, develop life skills.
Our staff aim to: Be kind to everyone, support our children, be creative, challenge our children and value and listen to our children.
The school aims to: Be safe and nurturing, Have committed and skilled staff, Be inclusive, Be welcoming and bright, Include parents and partners in our work.
We place a strong emphasis on our school values. We value kindness, respect, responsibility, being safe, having faith and being happy. Across the school, our children learn how to demonstrate these values. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child details the importance of listening to and considering the opinions of children particularly with relation to decisions that affect them. We aim to be a school that works together to ‘live’ out our shared values. These core values promote a sense of belonging, encourage collaboration, and help our children to develop important social and emotional skills. As a school, we strive to create an environment that supports achievement, growth and a sense of purpose.
