Enrolments for new Primary 1 children beginning in August 2023 will be the week beginning 16th January 2023 – 20th January 2023. The deadline for these applications is 20th January 2023. Children who attain the age of 5 years between 1 March 2023 and 29 February 2024 should register during this time for starting Primary 1 in August 2023. Please note that you should enrol your child at his/her catchment school. Please bring your child along on any of the following dates to enrol them at St Mary’s Primary School:
MONDAY 16th JAN: 1.30pm – 3.30pm
TUESDAY 17TH JAN: 1.30pm – 3.30pm
WEDNESDAY 18TH JAN: 9.15am – 10.30am, 3.15 – 5.15pm
FRIDAY 20TH JAN: 9.15am – 10.30am, 1.30 – 3.30pm
When enrolling a child, you MUST bring the following:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Current Council Tax bill as proof of address. If you do not have this, you can get a replacement from any NLC One Stop Shop.
- A baptismal certificate (if applicable) as children of all faiths and none are welcome.
A member of the Senior Management Team will meet with you and your child and complete the Enrolment Form with you.
If you wish your child to attend a different school from your catchment school then you can complete a placing request form, which can be found by visiting https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/school-admissions/placing-requests and sent to ef.placingrequests@northlan.gov.uk

Parent/carers who wish to defer entry for their child to Primary School and who wish to apply for an additional year of part time pre-school education should register their child for school as described above and complete the deferred entry application form which can be obtained from the Primary School. Enquiries regarding Deferred Entry should be directed to the Head of Establishment in the first instance.
