The Parent Council<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>A Parent Council is established in St. Lucy’s.\u00a0 Details of meetings can be obtained from the school and via school newsletters\/twitter.\u00a0 The composition of the Parent Council is determined by the Parent Forum.<\/p>\n

The Parent Council committee is as follows:-<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mrs A. Fargher (Chairperson)<\/p>\n

Mrs J. McNamee (Secretary)<\/p>\n

Mrs A. Daly (Treasurer)<\/p>\n

Mrs N Hutchison (Church Representative)<\/p>\n

Mrs C McAteer (Teacher Representative)<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Head Teacher also acts as the professional advisor to the Parent Council and attends every meeting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Parent Council\u2019s rights and duties include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Supporting the work of the school.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Representing the views of parents.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Consulting with parents and reporting back to the Parent Forum on matters of interest.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Promoting contact between the school, parents, pupils, providers of nursery education and the wider community.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. <\/li>\n
  6. Taking part in the selection of senior promoted staff.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Receiving reports from the Head Teacher and education authority.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. Receiving an annual budget for administration, training and other expenses.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  9. Improving home school partnership and facilitating parental involvement.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Procedures for Election of parent representatives to Parent Council<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>In accordance with the Parent Council constitution, office bearers will be reselected by the Parent Council on an annual basis at the annual meeting of the Parent Forum.\u00a0 Co-opted members will serve for a period of two years.\u00a0 The nursery class is part of the school and nursery parents have full entitlement to put themselves forward to volunteer to serve on the Parent Council.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
