This week in Primary Three Maths we have been exploring the properties of 2D and 3D shape.<\/p>\n

We started off by reminding ourselves of the shapes we had already learned about, before\u00a0looking their different features in more depth. We then investigated which 2D shapes are used to make 3D shapes, before examining their similarities and differences.<\/p>\n

We also had a great time making models with our 3D shapes, and today were set a problem solving challenge. Our challenge was to create a 3D cube out of straws. We were all successful in solving the problem of how to create the cube, even if we did have a few hiccups with getting them to stick together! We all worked very well as a team and didn’t give up until our cubes were made.<\/p>\n

Finally, this week we also enjoyed learning more about Advent, and particularly the Advent wreath. We learned about the meanings of the candles and created our own beautiful paper collages.<\/p>\n

What a busy week we have had!<\/p>\n

We are all looking forward to sharing our Nativity show with you next week, as well as all of the Christmas treats that will be happening at school.<\/p>\n
