This month, Primary 6,7 have been working hard on STEM as part of their work on our Natural Disasters topic and have been busy investigating how volcanoes work through practical science tasks. For STEM week this month, our theme was “Curiosity What’s Your Question?” and we have had lots of fun taking part in STEM challenges, learning about stereotypes in STEM and solving problems and questions about the Earth and sustainability. We investigated how spider webs are created and completed a challenge to recreate this type of engineering using only string – our results were very impressive! Next term, we are using our knowledge to create bird feeders and explore natural engineering which will be a fantastic opportunity for Outdoor Learning as better weather approaches!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During World Book Day, Primary 6,7 had the opportunity to work with Primary 3 for a paired reading session! They all had a fantastic morning and they have been such great role models for the younger children. We hope to continue this great work in the final term. Well done, P6,7! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preparations are underway for the Easter school show and the Primary 7 children are very excited to share all of their hard work on their Disney themed acting skills and roles! Primary 6 are also very excited to showcase their two songs: “Hakuna Matata” from the Lion King and “Summer Time” from Frozen. We wish everyone a Happy Easter and we look forward to lots of hard work and fun in the final term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
