We have been applying our knowledge to real-life situations, helping us build confidence when solving problems. We have been using 12-hour clock faces to explore o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to times, as well as learning about time intervals and being introduced to 24-hour time. Pupils have also enjoyed using timers to measure activities within the classroom and timing a partner, helping them understand how time is used in everyday situations.

We have also been revisiting key number skills to strengthen our understanding and accuracy when completing calculations, continuing to build confidence through practice, discussion and active learning approaches.

🌏 Scotland and Australia Topic

Our learning focus has continued with our comparison topic between Scotland and Australia. During March, we explored the similarities and differences between the two countries and reflected on everything we have learned throughout the topic.

We have now come to the end of our Scotland and Australia studies and are looking forward to beginning a brand-new topic after the Easter break. Alongside this, we had a strong focus on STEM learning, where we enjoyed taking part in STEM challenges, exploring STEM careers, and learning about the exciting world of science, technology, engineering and maths.

✝️ Religious Education

In RE, our learning has focused on Lent and preparing for Easter. We have been learning about prayer during Lent, Jesus’ journey, and how Christians prepare their hearts during this special season.

We explored the meaning of Easter by learning about Easter Sunday, Easter joy and the theme of new life. Through discussion, reflection and prayer activities, we have been developing our understanding of kindness, forgiveness and helping others as we prepared for this important celebration.

🏃 Physical Education

In PE, we are coming to the end of our possession games topic. We have practised keeping control of the ball, passing accurately to a partner, moving into space and working cooperatively as part of a team. We have also developed skills such as moving into space with a ball, keeping possession as a team, and applying our learning during small-sided team games.

Alongside this, we have enjoyed teamwork activities, Cosmic Yoga sessions, Danny Go fitness videos and movement breaks — including a very popular K-Pop Demon Hunters themed session — which kept us active, energised and having fun while learning.

💛 Health and Wellbeing

As part of the Emotion Works programme, we continued focusing on recognising emotions and understanding triggers.
