P.7 Party Time!

Our party season kicked off with our senior pupils’ celebrations this afternoon.  Primary 7 danced the afternoon away to a mixture of traditional and popular tunes.  Huge thanks to the teachers, support staff and parent volunteers who worked hard behind the scenes to ensure they had a ball!

Science club EXPLOSION!

Last Wednesday Stepps Science Club carried out an extra special experiment called the EXPLODING BAG! We mixed, warm water, vinegar and baking soda together in a zip lock bag and gave it a big shake. We all ran away from the bag as we watched the chemical reaction take place, and caused the bag to fill with gas and … POP!

Read, Write and Count

Read, Write, Count is a campaign by the Scottish Government, supported by Scottish Book Trust and Education Scotland.

It focuses on the importance of families, parents and carers in children’s education and aims to give advice and materials to help families get involved in their children’s learning.

Research tells us that if parents are involved in their child’s learning, their child does better in school.

If your child is in Primary 1, 2 or 3 you should have received a pack recently.

Thinking Circles 2016

Some of our pupils have had the opportunity to take part in Thinking Circles recently.  These groups allow pupils from a range of classes to have quality time together to discuss matters affecting the business of the school.  We actively encourage all our pupils to engage in their own learning and this is just one of the ways we hope to extend this practice.

Christmas Fayre 2016

Many thanks to everyone who helped us kick off the festive season with a bang.  Our Christmas Fayre was a huge success, yet again.  We were busy all morning as pupils, parents, staff, friends and local residents all turned out to support this fundraising event.  Whether you came to lend a hand, visit Santa in his Grotto, have a cuppa, make a decoration, listen to our choir or win a prize….THANK YOU from all at Stepps Primary!
