P1 Enrolment 2021

Enrolment of P1 Pupils for Session 2021/2022

A new system for Registration of Infant Beginners has been put in place to support the Council’s ongoing response to COVID-19. A new online registration form has been created and guidelines are detailed below.

Children who attain the age of 5 years between 1 March 2021 and 28 February 2022 should register for starting Primary 1 in August 2021.

A deadline of 22nd January 2021 has been set for return of all forms.

Enrolment and Placing Request forms are now available for parents/carers to complete online and email to individual schools. Completed enrolment forms, with accompanying evidence should be sent directly to: enquiries@stepps.n-lanark.sch.uk

Due to difficulties in the past, each child’s birth certificate and proof of address in the form of the current council tax bill/utility bill must be produced. Supporting evidence can be scanned or a screen shot sent of your child’s birth certificate and your Council Tax/utility bill.

Paper applications will be accepted where parents/carers do not have access to I.T.  All paperwork, should be returned in a sealed envelope to the school, (only copies of the supporting paperwork should be provided). The envelope should be dated and marked clearly with your child’s name and the words ‘P1 Enrolment 2021/2022’. Paper copies submitted by parents/carers will be quarantined for 72 hours.

Placing request forms can be emailed to ef.placingrequest@northlan.gov.uk

Transport application forms are also available online and paper copies can be requested from: ef.transport@northlan.gov.uk

Choosing a school booklet can be downloaded from the Scottish Government website: www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2010/11/10093528/0.

Parents/carers who wish to make an early entry request should contact the school for an application form or download from www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk following the links for ‘Early Entry Requests’.

Information relating to deferred entry can be found by visiting the following link: https://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/early-learning-and-childcare/deferred-entry-primary-school

Fairy Tales

Over the past 5 weeks we have been learning about fairy tales. We have made an individual mini model for each fairy tale we have read. One was even edible!

Volcano!

We have been looking at lots of science experiments for science week. Today we just loved making a volcano and watching it erupt! We used vinegar, water, washing up liquid, food colouring and baking powder.

Outdoor fun!

The children had lots of fun yesterday using some of our outdoor resources. We were exploring how water travels and using the wooden blocks to build cake stands for a tea party.

Fun at Gym

The children have been learning about being healthy, at gym they enjoyed taking part in an obstacle course, throwing jumping, hopping and rolling around on the mats. The children were able to tell us exercising is a great way to stay healthy. Great work!
