We have had a very active week at Stepps Nursery. On Monday we were joined by Will who taught us some Tae Kwon Do. The boys and girls learned some self defence skills and how to improve balance and flexibility. It was lots of fun! The Mini-Movers came back to teach us another dance and then some coaches from the Clyde football team came to teach some football skills! We have been so busy but it has been very exciting!

We had lots of fun playing out in the snow today. The mud kitchen was very icy and all the boys and girls loved touching the ice and mixing it with the water – we had lots of fabulous teamwork! Some of the children were trying to sweep up as much snow as possible but sadly there wasn’t quite enough to build a snowman!

Good fun was had by all at our Christmas party! We played lots of games like musical bumps, pass the parcel and Christmas corners. Then we sang some beautiful songs for our audience! After we sang ‘Jingle Bells’ Santa came to visit! Such an exciting time of year! We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year!

As we are coming into winter time the boys and girls were interested to know how ice is made. We filled a rubber glove with water and some sparkles and then put it in the freezer. The children discussed what they thought would happen and we got some very good answers! The children thought that the water would get colder in the freezer and go really hard when it turned into ice. We left it there over night and checked it in the morning. The children had lots of fun touching the frozen hands and watching the sparkles come out as it melted.

The children have been getting into the Christmas spirit (early!) by role playing in our Christmas shop and visiting Santa’s grotto! The nursery is looking very festive with some fairy lights and the Christmas tree!

The boys and girls had lots of fun taking part in a winter hunt today. It was freezing cold and we saw lots of beautiful wintery sights! The children used the iPads to capture their favourite parts of the winter walk (we definitely have some budding photographers!) We took a stroll around the pond, to the park and the football pitch.

On Friday the boys and girls participated in some fundraising for Children in Need by dressing up! We had some spotty children, stripey children, superheroes and even Pudsey! The children enjoyed learning about the charity, colouring in their own Pudsey bears and having a dance to some happy music!

The nursery children have had a busy day today! We visited the book fair and got to look at lots of exciting books! The children in the morning had a lovely snack outside with some hot chocolate to keep us cosy! In the afternoon we went for a nice walk then made hot chocolate when we got back to heat us up! Yummy!

The nursery enjoyed a fun filled day at our Halloween Party! The boys and girls made lots of Halloween crafts, biscuits and even got their faces painted! It was great seeing everyone all dressed up!
