{"id":13,"date":"2015-05-05T09:22:59","date_gmt":"2015-05-05T09:22:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/anntest3\/?page_id=13"},"modified":"2015-07-04T17:35:41","modified_gmt":"2015-07-04T17:35:41","slug":"homework","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/nl\/stedwards\/homework\/","title":{"rendered":"Homework Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">At the beginning of each session teachers provide parents with a plan for homework and an agreement which should be signed and returned to the school.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Pupils in P.1 and P.2 will be given homework mainly concerned with Mathematics, English Language and Reading for Enjoyment (Library Work) but will also be given tasks associated with other curricular areas.\u00a0 Generally homework would be set Monday-Thursday and would be age and stage appropriate.\u00a0 Pupils in P.3 &#8211; P.7 will be set very regular homework tasks for approximately 30 minutes each evening. Monday &#8211; Thursday and the tasks would cover all areas of the curriculum. Parents are asked to support the homework programme by signing a contract at the beginning of the session.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">\u00a0Homework should be an activity which:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">reinforces classroom teaching.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">encourages home school links.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">establishes routines of self discipline.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">establishes routines for working independently.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">encourages families to be active participants in the learning process.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">\u00a0Homework should be \u201ca simple activity to be undertaken within the home to complement the child\u2019s learning in school\u201d.
