Everyone under 18 has these rights<\/p>\n

Article 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to protection against discrimination<\/p>\n

Article 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adults should do what\u2019s best for you<\/p>\n

Article 4<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to have your rights made a reality by government<\/p>\n

Article 5<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to be given guidance by your parents and family<\/p>\n

Article 6<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to life<\/p>\n

Article 7<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to have a name and a nationality<\/p>\n

Article 8<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to have an identity<\/p>\n

Article 9<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to live with your parents unless it is bad for you<\/p>\n

Article 10<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you and your parents\/carers are living in different countries, you have the right to get back together and live in the same place<\/p>\n

Article 11<\/strong><\/p>\n

You should not be kidnapped<\/p>\n

Article 12<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to an opinion and for it to be listened to and taken seriously<\/p>\n

Article 13<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to find out things and say what you think, through making art, speaking and writing unless it breaks the rights of others<\/p>\n

Article 14<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to think what you like and be whatever religion you want to be with your parents\/carers guidance<\/p>\n

Article 15<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to be with friends and join or set up clubs, unless this breaks the rights of others<\/p>\n

Article 16<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to a private life, i.e. you can keep a diary that other people are not allowed to see<\/p>\n

Article 17<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to collect information from the media<\/p>\n

Article 18<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to be brought up by your parents if possible<\/p>\n

Article 19<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to be protected from being hurt or badly treated<\/p>\n

Article 20<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to special protection and help if you can\u2019t live with your parents<\/p>\n

Article 21<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to have the best care for you if you are adopted or living in foster care<\/p>\n

Article 22<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to special protection and help if you are a refugee<\/p>\n

Article 23<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are disabled, either mentally or physically, you have the right to special care and education<\/p>\n

Article 24<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to the best health possible and to medical care and information<\/p>\n

Article 25<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to have your living arrangements checked regularly if you are living away from home<\/p>\n

Article 26<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to help from the government if you are poor or in need<\/p>\n

Article 27<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to have a good enough standard of living<\/p>\n

Article 28<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to education<\/p>\n

You have the right to education which develops your personality, respect for other\u2019s rights and the environment<\/p>\n

Article 30<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you come from a minority group you have the right to enjoy your own culture, practice your own religion and use your own language<\/p>\n

Article 31<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to play and relax by doing things like sport, music and drama<\/p>\n

Article 32<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to protection from work which is bad for your health or education<\/p>\n

Article 33<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to be protected from dangerous drugs<\/p>\n

Article 34<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to be protected from sexual abuse<\/p>\n

Article 35<\/strong><\/p>\n

No one is allowed to kidnap you or sell you<\/p>\n

Article 36<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to protection from any other kind of exploitation<\/p>\n

Article 37<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right not to be punished in a cruel or hurtful way<\/p>\n

Article 38<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to protection in times of war. If under 15 you should never have to be in the army or a battle<\/p>\n

Article 39<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to help if you have been hurt, neglected or badly treated<\/p>\n

Article 40<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to help in defending yourself if you are accused of breaking the law<\/p>\n

Article 41<\/strong><\/p>\n

You have the right to any rights in laws in your country or internationally that give you better rights than these<\/p>\n

Article 42<\/strong><\/p>\n

All adults and children should know about this convention<\/p>\n

Articles 43 – 54<\/strong> are about how governments and international organisations will work to give children their rights.<\/p>\n
