Mary’s Meals

Primary 6 have been busy planning how to raise money for Mary’s Meals. Each group of 4 were given £7 (the amount needed to feed a child for a year!), and were challenged to use that money to raise more money. The groups came up with some great ideas – staff car wash, cake and juice stall, nail varnishing and many more. They researched the internet comparing prices with shops, surveyed the staff on prices they would be willing to pay for their car to be washed, worked out potential profits and created their own accounts sheet. The children are responsible for their own money and purchasing goods required. A lot of negotiating has been going on – who is going to buy what! Tomorrow the children will be car washing at £3, painting nails, selling cakes and mystery juices. Hopefully they will increase their £7 and raise much more. Tomorrow will be the first of their business plans, watch our blog for the next events. If you have any ideas please post a message to this blog post.
