Sports Wellbeing Day \u2013 Friday 13th<\/sup> March <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

A reminder that we are still looking for donations for our school sports committee who are hoping to run a\u00a0St. Brendan\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0Sports Swap Shop<\/strong>. This initiative aims to ensure that every pupil in our school has access to sports equipment and clothing, helping all children take part confidently in physical activity and do our bit to help the environment! We will be charging a small fee of \u00a31 for pupils and families to purchase these items and the profits made will be used to buy more equipment for the school and playground.<\/p>\n

We are appealing to pupils and families to donate any\u00a0unwanted, unused, or good-condition sports equipment and sportswear<\/strong>. Items such as trainers, football boots, sports bags, dance shoes and costumes, tracksuits, shorts, tops and equipment would be greatly appreciated. Items can be dropped into the donation box at the front office.<\/p>\n

We aim to launch this initiative on Friday 13th<\/sup> March <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This will be a special day where pupils can wear their own sports clothes. A healthy tuck shop will be available for pupils to purchase fruit and vegetable cups for the small cost of \u00a31,<\/strong> money raised from this tuck shop will go towards school funds to purchase sports equipment for the school and yard.<\/p>\n

Skills academies<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

This month in our Skills Academies, we have been developing an important meta\u2011skill<\/em> called Sense Making<\/strong>. Sense making means using your brain to understand the world around you<\/strong>. It helps us to:<\/p>\n

Figure things out<\/em><\/p>\n

Notice when things are the same or different<\/em><\/p>\n

See how ideas and objects fit together<\/em><\/p>\n

These are skills we use every day\u2014whether we\u2019re learning in school, solving a problem at home, or trying something new in the wider world!<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, pupils took part in a fantastic range of activities designed to help us grow our skills for learning, life and work<\/strong>. Pupils had the chance to explore:<\/p>\n

We practised everyday skills that help us become more confident, independent and responsible. These skills will support us now and in the future.<\/p>\n

We used our imaginations, shared ideas, and tried new ways of solving problems. Creativity helps us think differently and come up with exciting new possibilities!<\/p>\n

We explored how things are made, designed and improved. We tested out our sense making by spotting patterns, fixing mistakes and figuring out how parts fit together.<\/p>\n
