St Brendan\u2019s Weekly News <\/strong><\/p>\n

Welcome back to our Weekly Blog with our exciting news and learning experiences from our pupils.<\/p>\n

Take a look at the exciting learning experiences our pupils have been involved in over the past two weeks!<\/p>\n

Our First Holy Communicants <\/strong><\/p>\n

On Saturday the 31st May our lovely P4 children made their Sacrament of First Holy Communion. This celebration was a significant milestone in our pupil’s spiritual journey, marking the moment they receive the Eucharist for the first time. Saturday was a day of joy, reflection, and celebration, as pupils stepped forward in faith. A huge thank you to all who were involved in the children\u2019s preparation.<\/p>\n

In the lead up to the Sacrament pupils had the opportunity to attend their First Holy Communion retreat. Our retreat day is a time for pupils to step back from their everyday school routine. It provides pupils the opportunity to evaluate and strengthen their relationship with God and expand their faith knowledge. Pupils began their day attending morning mass with Fr Ricky, we thank him for such a lovely service. Afterwards Fr Ricky provided the pupils the opportunity to try on his vestments as they deepened their understanding of Mass throughout the liturgical year. The pupils demonstrated their knowledge of the liturgical calendar very well and enjoyed the opportunity to wear Fathers vestments. In the afternoon, pupils reflected on the story of the loaves and fishes where they enjoyed a guided meditation. The retreat was a great success and prepared the pupils so beautifully for their Sacrament.<\/p>\n

Cosy Book Club <\/strong><\/p>\n

Pupils from our cosy book after school club this week had a fabulous time in our wonderful library. The library allowed our Primary 2 and 3 pupils to explore stories, expand knowledge, and develop a love for reading. Guided by Mrs Shaw and Mrs Kennedy, the pupils learned to navigate books, whilst fostering curiosity and a lifelong passion for learning.<\/p>\n

Our Cosy Book Club is just one of our amazing reading projects we have at St. Brendan\u2019s as we continue to strive towards our Silver Reading School Award.<\/p>\n

First Lego League Explore Update<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last month our Primary 4 class were lucky to receive the First Lego League challenge pack which would allow pupils to focus on the fundamentals of engineering as they explore real-world problems, learn to design and code, and create unique solutions made with LEGO\u00ae bricks and powered by LEGO\u00ae Education SPIKE\u2122 Essential.<\/p>\n

Our Primary 4 pupils have demonstrated truly outstanding work, showcasing remarkable innovation, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Their enthusiasm and dedication shine through in every Lego challenge, each session you can see their growing confidence and ability to think critically. Whether tackling challenges, working as a team, or exploring new ideas, they continue to impress with their resilience and imagination.<\/p>\n
