St Brendan\u2019s Weekly News <\/strong><\/p>\n

Welcome back to our Weekly Blog with our exciting news and learning experiences from our pupils.<\/p>\n

Habemus Papum!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everyone at St. Brendan\u2019s Primary would like to pray for our new Pope Leo XIV.<\/p>\n

Faithful God,<\/strong>
\nYou guide us on the path of life<\/strong>
\nand your goodness is our constant companion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be with our new Shepherd, Pope Leo XIV,<\/strong>
\nin his service of the Church.<\/strong>
\nFill him with the power of your Spirit,<\/strong>
\nthe peace of your presence<\/strong>
\nand the compassion of Christ.<\/strong><\/p>\n

May he walk with you,<\/strong>
\nin wisdom and humility,<\/strong>
\nand lead us, together with all God\u2019s people,<\/strong>
\nto embody your love for the world.<\/strong>

Month of Mary \u2013 May Devotions<\/strong><\/p>\n

To mark the start of May, to honour our Blessed Mother our pupils alongside their teachers have been participating in praying a decade of the rosary daily.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We ask you to remember our Blessed Mother Mary in praying the May devotions.<\/p>\n

Hail Mary, full of grace, <\/strong><\/p>\n

the Lord is with thee; <\/strong><\/p>\n

blessed art thou among women and <\/strong><\/p>\n

blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Holy Mary, Mother of God, <\/strong><\/p>\n

pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An invitation is extended to all our St Brendan\u2019s community as our school leads the evening rosary in Carfin Grotto on Thursday 15th<\/sup> of May at 8pm. We would love to see you there to gather in prayer.<\/p>\n

In-service Day \u2013 Pilgrimage<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

To mark the theme for Jubilee 2025: “Pilgrims of hope\u201d our staff gathered alongside St. Bernadette\u2019s Primary school at Carfin Grotto on Tuesday afternoon. During the Jubilee year, everyone at St. Brendan\u2019s will be taking inspiration from the late Holy Father Pope Francis\u2019 prayer intentions, looking for signs of hope in all corners and aspects of our faith life and our global Church.<\/p>\n

We gathered in the glass chapel for a lovely service from Father Paul Denney of St James\u2019, Coatbridge.<\/p>\n

Wear Yellow Walk<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pupils returned to Strathclyde Park full of energy and enthusiasm for our annual Wear Yellow Walk, taking on one lap around the loch in support of St. Andrew\u2019s Hospice. Dressed brightly in yellow, they walked together in the sunshine, showing community spirit and raising awareness with every step. It was a joyful and memorable day for everyone involved.<\/p>\n

EuroQuiz<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Euroquiz is an annual project open to all P6 pupils across Scotland. This week our team from St. Brendan\u2019s took part in a team of four working together to broaden their knowledge of Europe and the wider world. Subjects covered include languages, history, geography, culture and European affairs.<\/p>\n
