Hello again from Primary 7! We cannot believe that we are 3 weeks in to term 3 already.<\/p>\n
Primary 7 have made an excellent start to the term and we are excited to share with you what we have been learning.<\/p>\n
During maths, we have been improving our mental agility by discussing and learning new mental strategies during our daily Number Talks. We have been focusing on multiplication and are improving our confidence in using a range of multiplication strategies. Primary 7 have also applied their knowledge of number processes, percentages and decimal fractions to allow them to solve challenging money problems involving interest, discounts and credit cards.<\/p>\n
The pupils have thoroughly enjoyed using their creativity whilst celebrating Burn\u2019s Day to create their own \u201cMcHaggis\u201d characters, and create adventurous stories involving these characters. In literacy, the pupils have also been very enthusiastic as they have begun working through their new, exciting novels.<\/p>\n
A highlight of the term so far is definitely the completion of the pupils\u2019 science experiment investigating how certain chemicals or liquids react with rusty coins. The pupils enjoyed investigating how corrosive liquids such as vinegar, coca cola and sauce can be. The pupils have also been working towards becoming Play Leaders in PE and are enjoying this responsibility.<\/p>\n
