The menu consists of starters, main courses and desserts. The approximate price of a full meal is <strong>\u00a33.40<\/strong>. Links to school menus are available through the Council website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northlan.gov.uk\">www.northlan.gov.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All children in primaries 1 &#8211; 5 \u00a0receive a free school meal. If your child receives a free dinner this will be shown on the computerised system operated by the Catering staff. Parents\/Carers of children in Primaries 6 &#8211; 7 may pay funds into their child\u2019s dinner account using the online payment system iPayimpact.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special Diet Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Diets required as a result of a medical condition (a medically prescribed diet e.g. coelic disease, diabetes, PKU, food allergy or intolerance) can be provided by the school by our catering staff.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>medically prescribed diet form<\/strong> must be completed by the child\u2019s Registered Dietician or General Practitioner. Procedures and forms can be accessed online through North Lanarkshire Council\u2019s website, by the school, the catering service or also in some cases by the child\u2019s dietician or doctor. For some conditions (PKU, coeliac) parents\/carers may be asked to supply prescription foods or attend a meeting to discuss the child\u2019s dietary requirements.<\/p>\n<p>For information; a vegetarian meal option is offered on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<p>Some children, with additional support needs, may require food to be adapted to an appropriate texture and consistency. In this instance, the child\u2019s registered Dietician or Speech and Language Therapist will liaise with the head teacher and school catering service including the nutritionist to ensure appropriate food provision. In this case a form will need to be signed by a medical professional including a Speech and Language Therapist.<\/p>\n<p>It is important that the <strong>Head Teacher is aware of any medically prescribed diets within the school<\/strong> and, on occasion, parents\/carers may be asked to attend a meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Any change in the child\u2019s dietary requirements must be advised through a Registered Dietitian or Medical Practitioner to the Facilities Support Services (FSS) Nutritionist.<\/p>\n<p>When children move to high school or change schools FSS will need to be informed as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Special diets required for ethical, religious or cultural reasons should be requested in writing to the head teacher, who will liaise with the school catering staff.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk\/index.aspx?articleid=5594\">Click here to find links to the menu currently on offer.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>School Meals \u00a0A varied menu is available with the general focus being on healthy eating.
