Kilbowie Day 4
A brilliant day gorge walking, skiing and orienteering. The children have had so many wonderful new challenges and experiences, met many new friends and have had such a fantastic time. They have been so well behaved and mannerly, and a credit to the school, their families and we are so proud of them.

Had a great day today. The weather here is much better than Coatbridge. Snow flurries at times and cold but we were all well wrapped up. The food is great and everyone is having a fantastic time.

St Bernards’ Nativity Dress Rehearsal
A great big well done to all the boys and girls today, who had a very successful dress rehearsal of their Nativity performance. Primary 1 children did a great job as the actors and actresses and the P7 children told the Nativity story with great big loud voices. Well done! Our choir sang their hearts out and really got the audience into the festive spirit. Thank you to Shawhead Nursery and Primary, who made a wonderful audience, along with some members of the community. If you haven’t already purchased a ticket for tomorrow afternoon’s performance then tickets are available from the school office.

Rookie Rockstars
There certainly has been a buzz about St Bernard’s Primary this week as day 1 and 2 of our week of Rookie Rockstars gets underway. The children have been rocking and bopping to some fabulous songs whilst learning some very important friendship, respect and anti bullying messages. They have thoroughly enjoyed the experience so far and the challenges and question times thrown in amongst learning the songs has certainly kept the children completely engaged.
They are looking forward to learning their final song tomorrow, recording on Thursday then their performance on stage next Tuesday. If you haven’t already purchased your allocated ticket then these are available from the school office.November 22, 2017

Me and My Senses – Primary 1
We have been learning all about how our senses help us to make sense of the world around us. We have learned about our sense of sight and about the names for different parts of the eye. We have discussed the importance of our sight in helping to keep us safe and have talked about how those with poor eye sight overcome their difficulties.
This week we have been looking more closely at our sense of hearing. We have played lots of games to show how our ears help us to hear different types of sounds and how they help us to work out where a sound is coming from. We have also discussed how our hearing keeps us safe and how important it is to look after our ears to help us continue to hear sounds all around us.
Below is a short clip of some of us performing our senses song. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoy singing it!
