Community Litter Pick

Primary 1 have been learning all about the importance of recycling so the class,  along with our eco-committee, Shawhead Primary and Nursery cleaned up the local area by picking up any litter lying around. Shawhead is looking beautiful! Help to keep it this way by making sure you dispose of any litter in the correct bins.

Coatbridge Community Foodbank

It was primary 6’s aim this Lent to collect as much food as possible to donate to the Foodbank. We know how important it is to help those in our own community whenever we can! St Bernard’s kindness and generosity have been recognised by Angela and Jean. Look- we managed to fill up a trolley!

Well done to St Bernard’s Pupils!

Growing Cotton

March 14, 2018 by Miss Poutney | 0 comments

As part of our Fairtrade topic, Primary 5 have been looking at cotton and how it grows. We planned an investigation to see whether we could grow our own cotton in the class.

We loved planting the seeds and we cant wait to see how they grow!

Smoothie Making

Primary 4 had a great time on Monday making a fruit smoothie. They learned the correct chopping techniques to ensure they would not cut themselves and successfully measured some of the liquid ingredients. Finally, they took all of their ingredients and added them to a blender to smooth. Well done primary 4, they look delicious!
